The Cleveland Crusaders kicked off the Spring season with a tour to the most prestigious East Coast Rugby events, the Savannah Saint Patrick’s Day Tournament. The team traveled strong with over 50 players bolstering the ranks across two sides. The top side participated in the Premier division while the seconds participated in the Men’s Open division.

The Crusaders won the Premier division with Wins over former Champions the Cincinnati Wolfhounds and USA South Panthers as well as the home team Savannah Shamrocks. The Crusaders became the 1st team from Cleveland and the 2nd in Ohio to win this tournament in 2016 and to repeat twice within our first 5 years is a tremendous statement about where this Club is heading.

The second side started many new club members and had a successful tournament finishing fourth. The team showed steady improvement each match, and It was great to see many new club members earn their first caps as Crusaders!

Please join us this Saturday, March 14 th , 7pm at Old Angle for our Championship Trophy Raising celebration.
The team is back to work this week and will be having practice from here on out every Tuesday and Thursday at Edgewater Park from 6pm to 8pm. Our first match is March 21 st vs the Pittsburgh Harlequins. The match will be held at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Grounds, located at 41324 S Woodland Rd, Chagrin Falls OH 44022. The Next week we also will have a home match vs Queen City and Rochester at the same time and place.
