What: The Cleveland Crusaders Rugby Football Club is extending their annual New Year’s Day Polar Bear Plunge to the entire Cleveland community, and also holding a canned food drive to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
All community members are encouraged to stop by Edgewater Park to make a canned food donation, join us in the fun during our annual polar bear plunge into the frigid waters of Lake Erie, or simply sit back and enjoy the show.
When: Monday, January 1, 2017 at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM canned food drive. Polar Bear Plunge at Noon.
Where: Edgewater Beach House, 6500 Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, Cleveland, OH 44102
Proceeds from the canned food drive will be donated to The Greater Cleveland Food Bank, which is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio. While many of us will be celebrating the holidays with family, 1 out of 6 people in the area do not know where their next meal will come from. The Greater Cleveland Food Bank serves to bridge this gap and connect individuals with the nutritious meals they need to succeed.
According to The Greater Cleveland Food Bank, items they need the most include:
Soup, Peanut Butter, Tuna, Canned Veggies, Cereal, Beef Stew
We’ll see you there!
