This Holiday Season, the Crusaders hosted the first ever Collegiate Winter Break Touch Tournament indoors at Force Sports in Rocky River, OH on December 29th.
Over 60 College Rugby student-athletes from all over the Country were on hand for a fun night of Rugby. Among the athletes in attendance were former State High School Champions, College National Champions, U-20 US Eagles, and All-Americans. The event was a tremendous insight into the impact Cleveland is having on American Rugby. The Champion Team, lead by Crusaders Forwards Captain Zack Webb, consisted of athletes from Arizona, UCLA, Ohio University, and Kenyon College.
Afterwards, Crusaders welcomed the student-athletes to enjoy some pizza at the social.
Due to the success of the first event, the Crusaders have already committed to growing this event in 2018. Next year’s event will feature more floor space, more matches, and some improved swag and prizes next year. “We are going to get creative to ensure this event is bigger and better in 2018,” said Tournament Officials.
